Chopstick Pros

I knew my kids were pro eaters,

but didn't know they'd be pros

using chopsticks!

Look closely in the photos.

It cracks me up that the white kids are using chopsticks

and the Taiwanese kid is using a fork. 

Not only that,

my kids tried every Taiwanese dish on the table

and loved them.

Their bellies were full by the time we left!!

As soon as Elliotte saw us using chopsticks,
she demanded that she use them too.

And somehow made it work!

Chopstick prodigy! 

Piper struggled a little more...

... but was equally determined.

Here she's just using one to spear her food!

Soft Kitty

Piper did it!!

In a sudden act of braveness, 

she got her face painted.

In the past,

she wouldn't even consider this.

Not only would she not consider it,

but she refused to even stand in a line up

to wait for Elliotte to get HER face painted.

I didn't even ask her if she wanted to do it this day.

Instead I asked Elliotte,

who (as usual) asked to be a kitty cat.

Piper jumped in and said, "ME TOO".

I was stunned.

Literally.

I just stared at her for a moment,

processing what was happening.

Next thing I know,

she hops onto the chair

and is being transformed into a feline.

What a proud moment for this momma!

... she promised only to make it snow OUTSIDE my van.

Happy 1st Birthday Eli

Happy very first birthday to Eli!

The girls and I celebrated by going to 

back-to-back birthday parties over a span of 5 hours today.

They were tired when they came home!
