The Doctor Is in

Given that Piper is the clumsiest child I have ever met,
I'm not sure I'd want her to be my doctor.

Elliotte doesn't seem to mind.

No need to worry.
Elliotte's blood pressure is just fine!

Bumbo Besties

My girls are growing like weeds!

Since Elliotte can hold her head up so well,
I decided to try her in the Bumbo chair today.

She looked SO cute.

She also liked the independence of being able to sit up alone.

When Piper turned around and saw her little sister
sitting there all by herself,
she laughed from her belly
and pointed saying, "look at Ollie-ette"!

All was fun and games...
until Piper realized that Elliotte was in her chair.

Then it wasn't so funny!

Bumbo Besties
I'm not sure Elliotte is enjoying this hug.
Two and a half years old and her little bum still fits in the Bumbo!
I'm a big girl now!

Swinging Smiles

When we moved to PEI
We really did pick the perfect house.

Not because of the walls around us.

Not because of the roof over our heads.

But because of our neighbours.

Piper adores Sylvie
And we hope someday,
Elliotte will adore Caitlin!

Another lovely day with the girls.

I LOVE love love this photo!
Baby Caitlin as quiet and content as Miss Elliotte!

Speaking of...
Our quiet little baby went for a walk with daddy in the stroller today.
Her first time ever.

Sister Scrub-a-Dub-Dub

Tonight was bath night.

I often bathe Elliotte in her little bathtub on the bathroom floor,
while Piper plays in the big bathtub.

I don't know why,
but tonight I changed things up and gave Piper her bath first,
so that she could help bathe her little sister.

Big mistake.

I should have reversed this process.

Elliotte kicked and splashed so much
that both Piper and I were soaked to the bone.

I had to towel dry Piper all over again before she could leave the bathroom.

These two are a LOT of work!

Sleeping Beauties

During our trip to NL,
Piper decided that she was not going to sleep in a crib
while there was a big girl bed in the same room.

Thankfully Elliotte didn't have the same opinion!

Perfectly precious!
Piper is asleep on the other side of the crib, on the bed!
My baby isn't a baby anymore.

There is Joy in my Heart

There are many things that bring joy to our lives,
but nothing brings more joy to my heart than children.

No matter how small the child,
the impact they make on our lives is monumental.

Even though my heart feels full to the point of bursting already,
so full that I wouldn't think that even a lentil could squeeze in,
today there is a teeny tiny bit more joy in there than yesterday.

Yes.
There is joy in my heart.

Our incredibly perfect little princess just might be a thumb sucker!
I'm not sure if this is a habit I want her to have,
but watching her fall asleep like this brings unimaginable joy!
If this doesn't bring you joy,
then I have no hope for you.

Tiny Terrific Travellers

After a hectic 10 day trip to Newfoundland,
we are back in PEI and are trying to get Miss Piper Cee
back on some sort of schedule.

It is not going well so far,
but we're hoping tomorrow will be a better day.
She's as exhausted as we are.

Almost every day,
while on our trip,
Piper would ask from the backseat of the car,
"where am I going now, Mommy?"

The poor thing was dragged all over the place,
from house to house.

She was very sad to have to leave her grandparents behind,
but she is incredibly happy to be back home!!

As for Miss Elliotte,
she's a gem as always.

She is still eating, sleeping and pooping lots.
She is just the most content easy little baby ever!!

Both girls were AMAZING during our commute to Newfoundland!

We drove 3 hours to Halifax to catch our flight,
which departed at 9:15pm.
Elliotte slept for the entire drive,
and with the exception of a 10 minute meltdown,
Piper was incredible as well!!

After playing in the airport for an hour or so,
we boarded the plane.
Although Piper has flown dozens of times before,
this was the first time that she can actually remember
AND the first time that she would have to sit in her own seat.

Worried about her refusing to sit with a seatbelt on for takeoff,
I had been coaching her for weeks on what she would have to do on the plane.
I guess she listened well,
since she climbed up into her seat and put on her seatbelt all by herself,
before I even had a chance to help her!!!
(Traveling must be in her blood!)

She was so excited about the flight,
having her own little tv
and the flight attendant giving her a cookie,
that she didn't have time to fuss before we had landed in St. John's.

And since Elliotte never fusses anyway,
we ended up having a relaxing uneventful flight.

I was so great!!

I will share many more photos and tales of our trip over the next few posts!!

And Miss P couldn't be left out of course.
Apparently WestJet is recruiting early!
