Grandparents and Girlies

This post was meant to be published
before the one showing Sylvie's birthday party,
but it somehow got past me.

Better late than never.

The girls were very excited to try on their new dresses
and pose with Nanny and Poppy!

Thank you for our pretty dresses!

What's Cookin'

Remember my post from a couple of weeks ago,
where Piper and her friend were dressed like little chefs?

Well add another to the list.

It seems as if Elliotte found her calling
at Sylvie's birthday party
and it looks like Nanny approves!

Piper and her little friend being the cooks.
Nanny's little cook!
Who wouldn't want to kiss this cook?

Sylvie Turns Four

Yesterday was a very exciting day for the little Lynch ladies.

They went to Sylvie's fourth birthday party,
and they sure had fun.

Piper would've been happy enough to just go to the party,
but the icing on the cake
(no pun intended)
was that she was beyond excited to wear the new dress
that Nanny and Poppy Lynch
brought back to her from Arizona.

The four girls are now
one, two, three and four years old
and just keep getting cuter and cuter.

At one point,
all four little girls were having a dance party
to the Frozen soundtrack.

Oh my heart!!!

xo

My best big girl with her best friend!
Someone is excited to be the birthday girl!
The four most beautiful girls on PEI.
All eyes are on that amazing Frozen cake!
If you skim thorough the embarrassing large number of photos taken once the cake came out,
you will see Piper sitting with her little hands folded like that.
I think it was all she could do to contain her excitement
and stop herself from reaching out to grab that cake!
This one was too busy being entirely too cute to mind anything else.
See!
Honestly!
After cake dance party!!!
Four tiny dancers!
And of course, Elliotte had to find something to put in her mouth.
This was after she crawled over to me
munching away on something crunchy.
I pulled it out of her mouth to find an animal cookie.
I'm not sure where she found it,
but she really enjoyed it!

PS.
Miss Elliotte is really getting braver when it comes to her walking now. Today she was taking 8-10 steps at a time. She LOVES it. Her smile couldn't possibly get any bigger when she is toddling across the floor. Oh my baby is growing up way too quickly!

Thirteen Month Comparison

I'm a day late with this comparison.

I'll use the excuse that I have company
and have been too busy.

Truth be told,
I'm just tired again.

Elliotte has been waking a lot at night again
and staying awake for 2 hours at a time.

This time the reason is no secret though,
as she is chewing and drooling on everything and anything.

Poor kid.

Cutting teeth this late in the game has to be tough.
She still only has six,
but we're hoping for two more super soon!

Here's our comparison photos of the girls.

There is a Bird on your Head

When we were visiting Newfoundland in September,
we went to Bowring Park with Piper and Elliotte's grandparents.

While feeding the ducks,
a pigeon sat on Poppy Lynch's head.

Piper has never forgotten about this,
so was incredibly excited when Nana Pope gave her a new book
called, "There's a Bird on your Head".

Piper has been waiting for Poppy Lynch to come and visit,
so that she could read that special book to him.

This week, she finally got her chance.

It was a lovely moment for this momma to sit back and observe.

Here's the photo of Poppy with the bird on his head.
Just finishing reading the special book!
This little one was very happy to see her Nanny and Poppy too!
It only took her about 2 minutes to become best buddies with this guy!

Cradle Kisses

I just love this!

Elliotte learned a new word this week.
If you ask her what a sheep says,
she will smile from ear to ear and say, "baaaaa".

She totally knows it's adorable!

Something else she loves to do now: give kisses.
Big wet open-mouth kisses.

She has been giving them to her mommy for a couple of months,
but it's only recently that she will give them to her sister.

I just can't get enough of this sibling love!

PS. Stay tuned for this week's posts. Nanny and Poppy Lynch are due to arrive tomorrow. We will have two very happy girlies on our hands!

Spring Fever

It's supposed to be Spring.

So I put on the "Springyest"
(not a word, I know)
dresses that my children currently own.
(They're too small, I know!!)

I was hoping it would help make it feel more like the way Spring should feel.

It didn't work.

We had another snowstorm instead.

Humph!

I don't need tropical weather.
I don't need it to be warm enough to swim.
I don't even need it to be sunny outside.

I. just. need. it. to. STOP. SNOWING!

xo
xo

Piper is incredibly happy, simply because she is wearing a dress.
This child LOVES dresses!
Elliotte is very obviously less impressed.
While Piper sticks around to dance and twirl in he dress,
Elliotte tried to escape!

PS. Elliotte took a few steps on her own today.  Just two or three, but she's getting braver and is SO proud of herself!!

Blueberry Babies

One of my girlies loves frozen blueberries.

The other? Not so much.

I thought they would help sooth her sore gums,
but apparently not.

I tried!

xo
xo

Lip licking good!
And belly-patting good.
Why is it so cold, Mommy?
Brrrrrrrrr.

I want something warm to eat! Waaaaa.
Somebody better call the wambulance!
In case you didn't catch it in the belly-patting photo,
check out the tag on Piper's pants.
She may have mastered using the potty,
but she hasn't quite mastered not putting her pants on
inside out AND backwards.
Look at that face.
She totally knows she's funny!

Kiss the Cook... And the Walker

While Piper is dressing up with friends at play group,
Elliotte is cursing around our house using the doll stroller.

It is the most amazing privilege to watch these two princesses grow up.

xo
xo

Piper is really coming out if her shell at play group!
I could kiss these two cooks until their little cheeks fall off.
Ready. Set. Go!
Watch out, Blue.
Elliotte isn't stopping for anyone.
She can scoot around so quickly like this,
but once she reaches a wall,
she will yell until someone comes to turn her around.
Hilarious!

Snow Snail Mail

Instead of the calm before the storm,
today was the calm after the storm.

The roads are still not cleared very well
and even our main highway is only one lane in many places.

SNOW!

While Elliotte was taking her afternoon nap,
Piper and I decided to forgo her daily quiet time
to go to the post office instead.

Knowing that there was still lots of snow on the road,
I figured Blue may like to join us.

I wasn't wrong.

He was so excited to put on his harness today!

There was no hesitation at all.

Once he was hooked up to Piper's sled,
it was heaps of fun all around.

During our two kilometer ride to the post office,
we had kids and parents coming out to the road to wave
and tell us how much fun it looked like we were having.

I'm sure Blue was even smiling!
I kept having to tell him to slow down.

We even had a lady chase us down
because she wanted to pet Blue.
She kept saying that she wished the Journal Pioneer
(our local paper)
was around to take our photo.

I just laughed at her.

After running 1.5 kilometers in big winter boots and a winter coat,
I did NOT want anyone taking my picture.
lol.

It really was a lot of fun.

Hopefully the weather will be nice enough to do it again tomorrow!

xo
xo

On our way to the post office!
After retrieving our package from Aunt Krista, Uncle Harold and Jack.
Mush, Blue! Mush!
Playing fetch in the deep snow in our backyard after our outing.
This is one happy dog!!
(Can you see our six feet high fence here?
I actually think Blue is laying on it.
Well... above it.)
I told Elliotte that she missed all of the fun..
so she found her own fun.
Always up to something, this little monkey!

PS.
Piper fell asleep in my arms tonight, just after we finished reading bedtime stories. She was exhausted from all of the excitement. AND Blue is passed out at my feet as I type this. He fell asleep in our front porch after we came inside and didn't move (except to eat supper) for the rest of the day. I feel like such a great mom when everyone passes out from fun overload! xo xo xo

The Three Year Onesie

The onesie that just keeps on going...

This isn't the onesie,
but I felt that I had to throw this photo in there so show how much Piper has grown!
She was only 2 months old here.
And here she is wearing the famous Paddy's Day onesie at 14 months old.
(Hanging out with her buddy, Duggan.)
Wearing it again at 2 years old.
(This year she added her own tiny sidekick.)
And again at three years old!
(Elliotte has one of her very own to wear for a few years!)
My happy big girl who is still petite enough
to fit into an 18-24 month onesie. lol

Happy St. Patrick's Day 2015

Piper was very excited to learn that today was GREEN day.

She was happy to dress in green
and wear funny green things on her head,
but was less than enthused when I showed her that
we were going to eat green things for breakfast.

At first she absolutely refused,
but since she really will try just about anything,
she caved and tried it.

Of course she loved it.
It was only food coloring added to her yogurt and milk,
but I guess the thought of green yogurt was too much to absorb at first.

Elliotte didn't care what color her oatmeal was.
JUST FEED ME MOM!

Supper was green as well.

Salmon cakes with green onions in them
with broccoli on the side.
Piper did NOT complain about that green combination.
She loves both!

St. Patrick's Day is a big day to celebrate in our house.
After all, Ireland is where mommy and daddy started dating,
so if it wasn't for that Emerald Isle
these two little leprechauns may not exist.

Talk about the luck of the Irish!

xo
xo

Green yogurt and milk.
Green oatmeal.
Even Mommy's coffee paid tribute to this great holiday.

My sweet sweet leprechauns.
Something is funny...
... really funny...
... what is it that they want so badly?
The little sheep that was on Mommy's head!
The little leprechaun is bailing on our photo shoot.
