Piper's Hair Salon

All was quiet in the Lynch house...
which made me very very worried!

I go to look for Miss Piper and this is what I find.

I guess Ernie and 'Dip' needed makeovers.

Piper was more than proud of herself!

xo

Look at that proud face!
Just about done... the boys are looking beautiful.
And voila!
Bert needed a slipper on his face to 'finish off the look'.
Your guess is as good as mine!?!?!

Fishy Fish and Chips

Does this seem strange to anyone else??

I'm from Newfoundland and have eaten my share of fish and chips,
but never have I eaten it where the fish actually LOOKS like a fish!

I felt a little bit bad biting his head off,
but he was delicious.

Piper didn't see what the big deal was.
She just chowed down!

This kid will eat just about anything!
Even a "fish head".

xo

Can you see Bert on the sidelines?
Can't you just hear him yelling, "Here fishy fishy fishy"!!

Fun Fruity Fact - 19 Weeks

I really should have been posting
these fruit/vegetable comparisons every Saturday,
but I either lost track of time
and/or didn't have the fruit in my house at the time.

Hopefully now I'll be able to stay on track
and have them ready for every Saturday post.

At nineteen weeks the Littlest Lynch
is now the size of an average mango!
YUM!

Average size: 6 inches, 8.5 oz.

Nineteen weeks.
Wow.
I realized two weeks ago,
that if the Littlest Lynch arrives a month early
like his/her big sister,
then we were more than half way back then.
Time is flying!

Piper is now 20 months old
and is SUCH a chatterbox.

While we were at the playground yesterday,
a little boy took her bucket.
She tried to take it back, but he wouldn't let go...
so she pulled his hair.
Sigh.

I took her aside and explained to her that
hair pulling isn't nice.
I wasn't sure if she listened to me or not.

At 2:00 am Piper awoke crying.
I went into her room for a 5 minute cuddle to put her back to bed.
While we were cuddling,
she looked up at me and said,
"bucket... no no"!

I guess she did listen after all!

xo

Wow! If baby is this big from head to bum,
he/she must be really long with Lynch legs included!!!
(Piper still has her impressive black eye!)
... and of course, peeling off the sticker!

Note: For those of you who are super observant, you probably noticed Piper's dirty socks! PEI red dirt is IMPOSSIBLE!!!! Mark has pointed out to me a few times now that her socks are dirty. After giving him the stink eye, I keep informing him that no, her socks are NOT dirty. They are stained! I have officially sworn off of light coloured socks for anyone living in this household. I just can't get the stains out! Red dirt... I will defeat you!

What a Shiner

For the past couple of months
Piper has been going through a terrible stage
of pulling Blue's fur.

Poor Blue has been a trooper,
but he definitely doesn't like it.

We've discovered that the best way to stop Piper from doing anything
is to simply ignore her.

This is one instance where, unfortunately,
our ignoring technique cannot be used.

One week she will try to pull his fur every chance she gets,
and then she forgets about it for a week.

We just keep going back and forth.

Today was a BAD day.

Blue way lying down asleep in the living room
and I just knew by the look on Piper's face
that she was gunning for him.

She took a running start to get to him before I could stop her,
but I managed to catch her just as she grabbed her first fistful of fur.

I spun her around to march her back to the kitchen,
but she protested.
I was holding her hand still when she went limp in the knees
hoping to get away from me and back to Blue.

Since I didn't let go of her hand,
she kind of spun around while hanging from my hand
and caught her cheekbone on the corner of the wall.

OUCH!

I felt terrible that she got hurt,
but I have a feeling that Blue was thinking,
"serves you right"!

You should see the other guy!!

Where's Piper?

Road trip games are the best!

Piper was a MONSTER driving from PEI to Halifax with Kim,
but was an ANGEL driving back home with her mom and dad.

Sigh.

You win some.
You lose some.

xo

Oh dear.
Where is Piper?
We must have left her back in Halifax!
Mommy puts her foot in her mouth often!
Like mother, like daughter!

'Piper' of Green Gables

Looks like we have another redhead on our hands!

Ha!

While Kim was visiting,
we saw these Anne of Green Gables hats
and couldn't resist!

xo

Our own Anne Shirley!
Watch out Gilbert!!
Showing Piper her reflection in the mirror.

Fun Fruity Fact - 18 Weeks

How "SWEET" it is to be loved by you!

Piper's baby brother or sister-to-be is now the size
of an average sweet potato!

Average size: 5.6 inches, 6.7 oz.

To celebrate we had peanut butter and YAM on toast for breakfast,
a YAM and cheese sandwich for lunch
and some fried canned sp-YAM for supper.

LOL.

Okay. Okay.
That was lame I know.
I think perhaps Piper and I have watched a few too many episodes
of the Bubble Guppies with their food puns!

We're happy that the Littlest Lynch is growing, growing, growing.

We have an ultrasound coming up next week
and are contemplating finding out the gender of this baby.

We love the idea of a surprise,
but think that after what happened in the delivery room with Piper,
perhaps we should take his/her surprise early.

It was only moments after I delivered Piper
that I passed out and had to be rushed into emergency surgery.
It really put a damper on the initial 'surprise'!
I woke up asking if I had a baby,
not about my baby.

So, the decision is still pending.

Do we find out or don't we.

Ugh.

xo

Holding the sweet potato up to her belly.
It kinda looks like there is already one in there on most days! ;-)
And, of course, peeling off the sticker!
