For the past couple of months
Piper has been going through a terrible stage
of pulling Blue's fur.
Poor Blue has been a trooper,
but he definitely doesn't like it.
We've discovered that the best way to stop Piper from doing anything
is to simply ignore her.
This is one instance where, unfortunately,
our ignoring technique cannot be used.
One week she will try to pull his fur every chance she gets,
and then she forgets about it for a week.
We just keep going back and forth.
Today was a BAD day.
Blue way lying down asleep in the living room
and I just knew by the look on Piper's face
that she was gunning for him.
She took a running start to get to him before I could stop her,
but I managed to catch her just as she grabbed her first fistful of fur.
I spun her around to march her back to the kitchen,
but she protested.
I was holding her hand still when she went limp in the knees
hoping to get away from me and back to Blue.
Since I didn't let go of her hand,
she kind of spun around while hanging from my hand
and caught her cheekbone on the corner of the wall.
OUCH!
I felt terrible that she got hurt,
but I have a feeling that Blue was thinking,
"serves you right"!
