I have to post about this because I think it's just hilarious!
For those of you who may not follow expectant/new mother online forums,
you may not know that we tend to flock together
and follow each other's journeys.
Throughout a pregnancy,
as mothers start having their 20 week ultrasounds,
they start finding out their baby's gender
(if they want to know)!
At this stage of the game
you will start to see many posts from mothers
exclaiming that they are "Team Blue" or "Team Pink"
for obvious reasons,
as they find out if baby is a boy or a girl.
With Piper,
we were "Team Not Finding Out",
which tends to be the smaller group these days.
Well.
Mark and I had our 20 week ultrasound yesterday
and were still "Team Undecided" when we arrived at the hospital.
When the ultrasound technician asked me if I wanted to find out,
I explained to her that I was still torn.
She offered to write baby's gender on a piece of paper
and place in an envelope for me to take home.
That way we could find out later if we wanted to.
Perfect.
It was the perfect solution.
And that is exactly what we did.
After the scan,
where we saw our adorable little baby yawning and stretching on the screen,
we went happily home with the white envelope in hand.
Boy oh boy.
That envelope kept staring us in the face and refused to look away.
We tried our best to ignore it,
but goodness,
it was RIGHT THERE!
It even made it onto our laps as we tried to watch some television.
I don't even know what show we were trying to watch.
The envelope was calling out my name.
I swear!
After a couple of hours,
Mark asked if I was going to open it the minute he left for work in the morning.
I couldn't lie.
I said YES.
That was the moment that he jumped up and opened THE envelope.
I tried to read his reaction.
I DID read his reaction.
But I read it wrong.
He handed me the envelope and then I cried.
I was afraid that finding out early would ruin "the moment",
but it so didn't.
We are so excited!!!
BUT
we are not telling.
Anyone.
This is where "Team Jerk" comes into play.
I was talking to Piper's Aunt Susan who obviously wanted to know.
Boy or Girl.
I'm not spilling the beans.
This baby's gender will stay a secret.
That's when Susan made me laugh out loud by telling me that
her pregnancy forums had a name for people like me...
TEAM JERK.
lol
So so so funny!
Now that we know if Piper is having a baby brother or sister,
we are starting to prepare her a little more.
Do you think she will be willing to share Ernie and Dip??
Ugh!
xo

Most car rides take place like this. I hope Piper will share with the Littlest Lynch! |
We may be in luck. She did share with Nana!!!! |
