The Pumpkin Patch

A beautiful sunny day
mixed with a trip to the farm
and finished off with some hot chocolate to warm up,
equates to two very happy sisters!

Feeding the baby cow!
The pigs were watching Piper feed the cow.
I think they were a little bit anxious for their turn,
don't you think?!

The goats were hungry too!
As was the pony!
Piper and her mom with the not-so-itsy-bitsy spider!
Little farmers!
Sitting in the pumpkin patch!
This little pumpkin is just about as round as all the others!
My girls with their grandmas and a giant pumpkin.
The wind was quite cold at the farm,
so I warmed Miss P up with some hot chocolate.
She was a little bit happy about it!
Good to the last drop!

Flying SAUSAGE Swinging Sister Snuggles

A trip to Bowering Park to feed the ducks
wouldn't be complete without a visit to the playground!

Elliotte thought her first time on the swings was great!

The sisters swinging with their grandmas.
Happy for her first time in a swing...
... but something else was more interesting!
Her big sister.
Yes.
Elliotte just wanted to watch her big sister squeal in delight
as she was swinging!
I told Piper this was a "Flying Saucer".
She got excited and exclaimed to everyone
that she was on a
"Flying SAUSAGE"!

Duck. Duck. Pigeon?

One of Piper's favorite things to do in Newfoundland
is visit Bowering Park to feed the ducks.

Poppy Lynch always packs a pile of bird seed
and Piper loves every second of sharing it with them.

During our most recent excursion to the park,
however,
we think Poppy Lynch had the most fun of all!

xo

Being the cool kid with her hat on backwards.
No matter how many months take place between visits,
Piper is never hesitant to take her Poppy's hand and go for a walk!
A "grand" day with the grandparents!
Who's having fun??
Poppy Lynch turned out to be the Pigeon Whisperer.
Piper got quite a kick out of him feeding the pigeons from his hand.
Look closely.
The pigeons really did feel comfortable around Poppy Lynch.
Thankfully, not too comfortable to leave a prize behind! ;-)

FYI: I forgot to mention in yesterday's post that Elliotte weighed in at 19 lbs 2 oz at her check-up! Our little porker really is a porker. It is just so much fun having a baby that loves to eat! xoxoxoxo

Turkey - Ice Cream - Food

All three of the Lynch ladies
got a little spoiled on this past trip home to Newfoundland.
We each got our absolute favorite treats to eat.

This momma got a full Newfie turkey dinner
with all the fixings!!!
TWICE!
(Thank you Aunt Donna and Jim
and Linda and Wallace.)

Piper got to make her own ice cream sundae!
(Thank you again Aunt Donna, Jim and Cassandra!)

And Elliotte...
well she got FOOD.

Yes.
The littlest Lynch lady
was finally able to advance from milk and cereal
to vegetables and fruit.

She.
Loves.
It.

Here is a funny story for you about Elliotte
and how much she loves food.

Today we visited the public health nurse
for Miss E to get her 6 month vaccinations.

During that visit,
the nurse gives Elliotte her routine check-up
to make sure she's growing well
and is reaching milestones.

One of the things the nurse must check is her vision.

So, the nurse takes a little lion toy
and moves it around in front of Elliotte's face,
expecting her to follow it with her eyes.

Nope.

Did I get concerned.

Nope.

I wasn't one bit surprised.

That's because her big sister had found
the baby Mum Mum cookies in the diaper bag
and was happily sitting next to her eating one.

Elliotte was NOT taking her eyes off of that cookie.
Not for a toy lion.
I wouldn't even think for a live lion!!

The nurse actually had to borrow a cookie from me
and use that as the tool to check her vision.

Elliotte's eyes followed that cookie
everywhere the nurse moved it around the room.
No surprise there!!
:-D

Three lovely ladies in their aprons at the sundae making station!
(Perhaps the optometrist will use ice cream with Piper.)
Still not taking her eyes off of that ice cream!
Cross-eyed into the carrots!

Seventh Month Showdown

I missed doing the girls' seventh month comparison.

Here is a photo of Piper when she turned
seven months old,
verses Elliotte when she turned seven months.

Miss Elliotte is very serious about her supper here!

Zoodles of Fun

And we're back.

For now.

After traveling around Newfoundland and Nova Scotia
for more than a month,
my girls and I are back in PEI with their daddy.

Is it great to be home?
I'm not sure yet.
Piper just finished fighting bedtime for an hour
and just asked me to give her a tissue to keep in her crib
for when she cries some more.
I told her that if she stopped crying she wouldn't need this tissue.
From the look on her face,
this seemed like an absurd and unreasonable idea to her.

Sigh.

Here we go with Sleep Training... AGAIN!

Miss Elliotte Paige went to bed without a hitch,
but her stretches of sleep have become less impressive.

After a week in Newfoundland,
our littlest Lynch ended my stretch of bragging rights
and started waking multiple times during the night.

A good night now would have her up at least three times to nurse.
She most always goes straight back to sleep in her crib,
but it's still exhausting for this momma
to never get more than a 3 hour stretch of sleep at a time.

I guess that's what happens when you brag too much
about how perfect your baby is.
Ha.
I enjoyed the long sleeps while they lasted!

Our travels were great
and we really enjoyed seeing family and friends along the way.
It was almost impossible for me to blog,
since I do this when Piper is sleeping
and she was sleeping in the computer room at her Nana and Poppy's house.

Because of this,
the blog suffered and I have many MANY photos to catch up on.

But for now,
this blogging mother just wants to take a hot bath and go to sleep.

I will share my single most favorite photo of the trip.

It pretty much sums up my travels and my life in general with the girls.

Piper sure can be a lion
and Elliotte is definitely a goofy little monkey.

I often feel like I'm living in a zoo,
so this photo of my girls is just perfect!!

Mommy's Birthday Bumps

Oh my!

Turning thirty-five was not uneventful.

There were some really lovely parts to my day,
but there were also some very "not-so-lovely" parts as well.

Lovely part:
Climbing into Piper's bed with her in the morning
and having her sing Happy Birthday to me in her sweet little voice.

Not-so-lovely part: Having Piper have a full blown epic meltdown
over not wanting to get dressed.
And I mean FULL BLOWN with kicking, hitting and screaming!

Lovely part: A birthday breakfast at Nanny and Poppy Lynch's house
with Aunt Cindy and Uncle "Sill".
(Piper is still struggling to say her "Ph" sounds.

Not-so-lovely part: Both girls decided not to nap for the entire day.
We had some shopping to do,
but they will usually pass out in the car for at least one hour
or for the commute home at least.
Not today.

Lovely part: Shopping with my mom and having both girlies
act like polite little ladies for 99% of the time!

Not-so-lovely: Having Elliotte fill her diaper past capacity
and Piper crying for a snack
as we're stuck in a brutal traffic jam
with traffic virtually at a standstill.

Lovely: Picking up Swiss Chalet to take home for supper.

SO-not-lovely: Having Elliotte reach out and grab my lovely birthday supper
and yank it off of the table.
Yes.
My chicken, vegetables, roll and sauce
were splattered all over the floor.
I honestly used my hands to scoop all of the food into a pile
and then placed handfuls back onto my plate.
Thank goodness that my mother keeps her floors spotless,
since at this point in my day,
my options were to continue eating
or start drinking!!!

Lovely: Despite my dinner's unexpected flight and crash landing,
it was delicious!

Not-so-lovely: (yes, there's more!) though it was beyond lovely
to have my family sing Happy Birthday to me
and to watch the wonder and excitement in my girls' eyes
at the sight of the birthday candles,
it was a little less lovely to watch the beautiful cupcakes get devoured
when I could not partake.
(My doctor has asked me to remove dairy from my diet again for Elliotte.)

Sigh.

At least the day ended on a lovely note.
Piper went to bed early
after we read some new stories and had a wonderful cuddle together.
Elliotte was overtired and was giving Nana and Poppy some heck
while I was having quiet time with her big sister,
but she immediately settled down and fell asleep
after Nana gave her my pajama top to snuggle!
Love!

I finished the day with a bowl of frozen grapes
(I'm amazed I resisted alcohol)
and a chuckle about the day.

Thirty-Fifth year, please be kind!
