Smoke Signals

Cavendish Farms has a factory 

that is located about a 10 minute drive from our home.

We have to pass it on our way to Charlottetown.

The smokestacks always amuse my girls to no end.

Yesterday, since the entire day was about my girls,

I decided to pullover and watch the smoke for a little while

before we made our way to the 'big' city.

I think it's pretty evident that the girls enjoyed themselves!

Got to Get Me Moose 'By!

Poppy went "looking" for moose last week.

So we went looking for moose today!

Found some!

We cuddles ours.

Growing up

I'm sure I've used the title of this post a hundred times.

How can I not.

Every day when I look at my girls,

I'm shocked by how much they've grown. 

Every.

Day!

Though I love how much she admires her Daddy,
I really don't want Piper to follow in his footsteps.
I worry enough about Daddy.
I'm not sure I have it in me to survive the worry
about a police daughter too!

And then there's this one.
Successfully peeing in the potty multiple times a day.
Can I take any credit?
Just a little.
The rest goes to her big sister!!
Piper is honestly the potty trainer in this house!
I'm so proud of both my girls!

Feeling Better Freedom

What do you let kids

who have been feeling under-the-weather,

whiny, feverish and sleepy, etc

do when they perk up?

Absolutely anything they want.

Trick or Post

We still have the best post master in the world!

There is always a little extra in our postal box

after a holiday!

Such a small thing

that makes such large smiles!

I'm so thankful for the people in my life

that do things like this for the most important little things in my life!

Dental Duet

Today was a busy day for my little ladies.

First off to the Mommy and Me gym 

for a 60 minute workout.

Then to the dentist for Elliotte's check-up

and Piper's follow-up appointments.

Then off the the salon for a haircut for Miss Piper.

(Elliotte cried for a haircut too,

but I wasn't paying $12 to cut hair that doesn't need cutting!)

Sorry little one.

Mommy's on a budget!

We came home for a quick lunch

before Daddy took the girls for a walk on the trail,

while Mommy went to the track for a run.

After all of this excitement,

there wasn't much time left for anything

other than a fun bath in Mommy's big bathtub

and then a yummy supper

before bed.

Zzzzzzz.

Busy days = Tired girls.

And a tired Mommy.

Sharing Sleepies

Elliotte has two little security blankets,

which she affectionately call "Two Sleepies".

She was only ever allowed to have one 'Sleepy' in bed with her,

so that I could have the other as a backup if necessary.

But one day, 

she discovered the second Sleepy and there was no going back.

As soon as it was bedtime, 

she would demand, "TWO SLEEPIES". 

They're the only things that she refuses to share.

Except with one special person.

Her baby.

Last night she asked if she could take her baby

to bed with her.

I agreed.

She was so happy to give Baby one of her Sleepies

and keep the other for herself.

Ooooh sweet sweet girl!

Piper still has her Sylvie's Blanket.

Thankfully, she no longer demands to be covered up in it,

but is happy to snuggle it in her bed.

She's SO tall.

The blanket is not nearly large enough to cover her anymore,

but she would always ask.

She would have to choose to have cold toes/ankles or cold arms.

This kid is going to be a TALL adult!
