Super Baby to the Rescue

I placed Elliotte in her swing,
so that I could put her sister down for her nap.

When I returned I discovered that she had somehow rotated her bib
around to her back.

She seemed very proud of herself.

I laughed out loud at my silly baby now wearing a cape!

My very own little Super Baby!

Our little Super Baby thinks this is very funny!
Off to save all of the babies of the world from drool!
And this is what happens when Nana calls and asks what Elliotte 'needs'
and her momma says bibs.
While Elliotte is flying around saving the world,
Piper is sitting in the kitchen putting k-cups in their carrousel.
I asked her to fill it up for me, which she was happy to do.
Then she took them all out again... and put them back in again.
For an hour!

Final Photos from Newfoundland

I still have a few photos from our trip home to Newfoundland
that I've wanted to share,
but they keep getting postponed.

I'm going to add them all here so that I can continue on
with new and current photos of my rascals!

Thank you again to everyone at home
who made our visit so very special!

Watching Poppy Pope eat his cereal.
I swear she is eyeing that bowl!
I think this child would eat a Big Mac if I left it in front of her!
Hmmmm....
kinda looks like I really do feed her Big Macs!
Visiting with Aunt "Kiss-ta" at her hotel.
Elliotte in her baby strap which was made for us by wonderful friends
in Fort McPherson when we had Piper.
Very much enjoying a playdate cuddle with Joseph.
Joseph wearing the glasses from the medical kit that we gave to him.
Piper was excited to hold his hand for the photo,
but Joseph was determined to get his glasses on first!
A trip to Bowering Park with all of the grandparents.
Poppy Lynch brought along some bird seed for us to feed to the ducks.
Piper love love LOVED it!
Nana Pope, however, was terrified that Piper would fall in the duck pond,
so she held on to Piper and wouldn't let go.
Still holding on...
Still holding on...
Trying to hold on even though Piper is facing AWAY from the pond.
STILL holding on! LOL
She finally let go for Piper to sit up between her Poppies and have a snack.
(Nana was obviously much more interested in keeping her out of the pond
than keeping her hat on correctly! Ha!)
Swinging with Poppy.
First seesaw ride with Elliotte!
And a turn with Daddy!
And a trip to Dairy Queen with all of the grandparents afterwards.
Piper barely ate any of her Sundae.
We didn't figure out why until about a week later.
She told me that she wanted an ice cream that she could hold in her hand.
Aka an ice cream CONE
Ice cream with the Poppies.
Elliotte was there too.
Sadly she couldn't have any ice cream.
Next year baby girl!
And a trip home to PEI on the plane with my girlies.
Both were wonderful little travelers!

Rock a Bye Baby

Piper loves to play with her stuffed animals and dolls.

She is very maternal
and is forever making sure that they are not
hungry, thirsty, sick, tired or naughty!

I decided to mix things up a little bit
by placing Elliotte in her doll's crib.

At first Piper thought this was hilarious
and great fun.
But then got a little jealous
and had to have a turn of her own.

Little girls!!

I have a feeling we are going to have a LOT of fun
with these two growing up together!

Look Mom!
"Ollie-it" is my baby!
Our 'little' pork chop is almost too big for the doll bed...
... yet our two year old still fits!!!!

All in a Year

We have officially been in our PEI home
for one whole year!

Wow!

What a difference one short year can make in your life!

I am so thankful!

This was Piper testing out her brand new high chair
one year ago today!
And look at her now!
Graduated to a booster seat.
(Princess of course!)
In addition to the booster seat,
there has been one or two other 'changes' this year!
An entirely new person to sit in a high chair!!!!
Miss E's hair is curling a little here
because it was humid and she was sweaty! :-)

Camping Cuties

Another set of guests have come and gone.

Jeepers!
This summer is flying by and my girls are growing up!!

It was so lovely to see our most recent visitors,
but sadly we didn't get very many photos.
Mostly because they took advantage of ever last moment that they were here
to explore PEI and everything that it has to offer a family.

Since Mark had to work,
I opted out of taking part in the excursions
because I would have ended up slowing everyone else down,
while I nursed the littlest one (frequently)
and catered to her big sister's needs
(food, naps, explanations of who and what everything is)!

Either way,
Lee Ann if you're reading this,
it was lovely to see you and your family
and we hope that you had an amazing family vacation here in PEI.
If you guys have any photos of the wee ones together,
please send them along to be added to a blog post!

So what exactly did we do while our guests were off exploring?

We avoided the rain and built play tents in the living room instead.

Piper and I built the first tent
while I somehow nursed Elliotte at the same time.

After it passed Piper's inspection,
she quickly disappeared into her bedroom
in search of Dora and Boots,
so that they could join in her fun.

While she was gone I poked Elliotte inside the tent
and then resumed the position that I was in before Piper left the room.

When Piper returned she anxiously ran up to the 'door' of the tent.
That's when she heard a noise.

She looked at me with a very confused face
wondering what in the world could be making a noise in her tent.

That's when she cautiously peeked inside,
only to see her baby sister smiling up at her.

I wish you could have heard the squeal of delight
and the laughter that promptly followed.

That's when I was directed to renovate the tent
to make it a little wider.
Big enough for two!

This act was followed by many giggles by both parties present.
(And perhaps a few from the audience!)

Peep!
Yes it was me making the little sounds while hiding in the tent!
Room for two!
I hope this foreshadows many years of fun playing together for these two.
You can't see it so well in the above photo,
but Piper has a nasty looking eye.
I'm sure that some day I will be writing about this being Elliotte's fault,
but for now all the blame can be placed on a mosquito.
Ouch!

The Summer of Visitors Part 3

Our third set of visitors in a month have arrived,
hence the lack of blog posts.

My friend Lee Ann, her daughter Amelia
and her mother Bonny are all here for five days
enjoying a lovely PEI family vacation!

Sometimes we're just too busy having fun to blog!!

Will try to catch up on heaps of photos over the next few days!!

Playing in our private pool.
And of course enjoying the kitchen!
Playing and having fun is exhausting...
...take it from the sleeping expert!!!

Newfoundland Attention

Continuing on with some of the photos
of our trip home to Newfoundland,
here are a few of family meeting Miss Elliotte for the first time.

xo

Elliotte's godfather, Ben, giving her some cuddles.
She looks awfully content here. xo
Nana and Cassandra giving little miss a warm bath!
Poppy Lynch holding his newest grand-daughter for the very first time.
And Nanny Lynch doing the same.
And what was Piper doing while the new baby was getting so much attention?
Playing dress up with all of the new jewelry that she received
from Nana and Poppy!
There were no worries of Piper getting her share of attention.
It was mommy and daddy that didn't get a hug until the day AFTER we all got home!
