Curly Locks

If you look back at some of the older posts from this month,
the ones where Piper is in her swimming pool in our backyard,
you will notice that Little Miss had lots of braids in her hair.

That night when we were getting ready for her bath,
I took all of the braids out.

Piper was thrilled with the curls in her hair.
Yes. She is a girly girl through and through.

I'm starting to worry that she might be a little bit vain!

xo

Curly locks!
Admiring her curls in the mirror!
Striking a pose with kissy-lips and everything.
Oh dear.
She could be trouble!
Showing off her new 'do' to her favourite boys!

Piper's Secret

Piper has been keeping a secret for the past few months.

For a kid that talks so much,
she's done pretty good,
only telling a handful of people.

We've now given her permission to tell.

She's excited.

xo

Look at that face.
She's bursting to tell!!!
Surprise!!!
You can click on this photo to enlarge it if you can't see it well.

Beaver Tails and Cow's Ice Cream Cones

The biggest reason why we decided to move back to the East Coast:

Family time for Piper!

Poppy feeding Little Miss some Beaver Tail.
The little seagull is begging for more from Nanny.
Going for a stroll with her buddy!
Three generations of Lynches!
Cow's Ice Cream IS the best in the world!
Closed eyes say it all!

Up Please, Poppy

When we first gave Piper her Piper-size patio chair,
she was very pleased.

But she soon discovered an even better seat!

xo

Saying "Uppy Poppy"!

Showered with Love

Of course it wouldn't be a pool party without Ernie and 'Dip'.

Piper literally and figuratively showers them with love and affection!

She makes sure that they have lots of fun when in the pool,
and a place to relax when they are out of the pool.

xo

Are you ready Ernie and Dip??
1... 2... 3...
SPLASH!!
She was pretending they were jumping off of the side of the pool
and into the water!
I guess they needed a shower after all that swimming!
We decided to buy two mini patio chairs,
since we anticipate lots of visits from cousin Jack.
But Piper had other plans...
I guess I should have bought FOUR chairs.
(Sorry Jack, you'll have to bring your own seat when you visit!)

Lounging Lady Lynches

While Piper and Nanny Lynch take some time out
to lounge around
on a hot summer day,
Daddy and Poppy Lynch were hard at work
building our new deck.

It's a hard life for these ladies,
but somebody's gotta do it!

xo
Tough life!
The ladies lounging while the men are hard at work.
Well, not all of the men were hard at work.
Piper's boys were still at her side, as per usual!

Don't Put All Your Eggs in One Basket

This is a good one!!!!!!

Piper loves to help put away the groceries after a trip to the grocery store.

Her favourite things to put away are the cans.
One at a time,
slow and steady,
she will put each can into the cupboard.
She's a great help.

But today was different.

Today, while Mrs. Lynch and I were putting away other things
we turned around to find Piper with an EMPTY egg carton in her hands.

Mrs Lynch's reaction: "Oh my. For a moment there I thought she had the eggs."

My response: "She DOES have the eggs!" (Slightly panic stricken!)

Mrs. Lynch: "Where are they?"

My response: "I. DON'T. KNOW." (More panic stricken!)

And so I slowly unfreeze myself,
and cautiously look inside one of the grocery bags...
and find twelve UNBROKEN eggs!

Honestly!!!

What are the chances??

She dumped the entire carton of eggs into a plastic bag
(note: This is a rare day when I forgot to bring my fabric bags to the store),
and onto CERAMIC TILE
and NOT ONE EGG BROKE!

Hilarious!

Mrs. Lynch jumped to put them all back into the carton,
but I quickly stopped her.
This was too good of a photo op and blog post to pass up.

So while she stood guard of the bag of eggs,
this mother-of-the-year once again delayed any type of clean up
or lecture to grab the camera!

This blog sometimes makes me question my parenting skills...
or parenting priorities at least!

Piper is going to grow up thinking that any naughty act results in
a photo first and THEN a lecture. Ha!!

And for the record,
I know she wasn't being naughty here,
just 'helpful'.

We laughed.
She continued to put away more groceries,
not knowing what the big deal was!

xo

This is exactly what I turn around to find.
Questionable as to if there are ANY eggs or not....
A better look reveals that, no, there are NO eggs left in the carton.
Look Mom!! I'm such a big help with the groceries!!!
Reluctant inspection of the bags revealed this!
All in perfect egg condition!
Quite happy to see all of the eggs back where they belong.
(Mommy's smile was bigger!!!)

Colour Fun

Colouring in her colouring book with Nana is lots of fun.

xo

All she wants to colour is a BUS.
Bus. Bus. Bus!

A Swim and a Drink

Who doesn't love to be in a pool,
on a hot day,
with a drink close by?

This sort of counts.
Right?

xo

Piper thinks that Blue drinking out of her pool  is the best thing ever!
Here she is making her sign for "more",
asking Blue to come back and drink some more!

Lazy Re-Post

Sorry all.

Today was a bit of a lazy day.
I wasn't feeling great
and Nanny and Poppy entertained Piper after her nap,
so I didn't get around to taking a photo today.
Tomorrow.
I promise.

I did come across this photo the other day though,
and thought it was definitely cute enough for a repost.

xo

Is there something on my face?

So Close Yet So Far Away

After waking up from a nap
Piper was looking for her Nan and Pop.

She spied them in the backyard relaxing under the gazebo.
She stood at the door calling out to them
like a sad lost little thing.

xo

Nanaaaaaaaaaa....
Poppyyyyyyy....

Public Warning Announcement

NEVER. Put. Sunscreen. In. Your. Eye!

It hurts!

What is worse?
Putting sunscreen in your eye or having mom flush that eye out with lots of water??

Yes, I was covering Miss Piper in sunscreen yesterday
before some playtime in her pool.

I was naming off each body part as I covered it in sunscreen.
Piper likes to help by dipping her finger in it and putting it on me.

When I started doing her face,
I put some on her nose and said "nose".

Before I could stop her,
she dipped her finger in the sunscreen
and said "eye".

OUCH!

A full finger full of sunscreen went straight into her eye.

She was NOT happy about it!

xo

Don't try this at home kids! It hurts!

A Visit from Uncle Bill and Debra

Today Piper received some special visitors.

Her Uncle Bill and Debra were visiting PEI
and made their way to Miscouche to see Piper Cee.

Little Miss was shy at first,
but after a few minutes
she couldn't get enough of them.

I think they had her laughing so hard that she may have peed in her pants.

xo

Getting spoiled with LOTS of attention and tickles!
After warming up to her aunt and uncle,
Piper has unlimited hugs to go around.
This kid just loves attention!!

Happy BLOG Anniversary to Me

I started this blog one year ago today.

There have been 293 published posts!
(Sorry, I missed a few days.)

AND there have been over 10,400 page views to date.

WOW!

I think Piper has a fan club!

I would say she's incredibly fortunate,
but really we all know that in truth,
it's her mother that is truly fortunate.
I'm so thankful for being blessed with such a sweet child.

It really will be a shame if I don't have a dozen just like her.

HAHAHA!
Not gonna happen.
I'm MUCH too old.

Thank you to all of her blog followers!

Here's to many more posts!

xo

Piper may have grown a lot over the past year,
but some things never change.
Still sleeping with her arms over her head!
And then mom sneaks in to tell her to say "cheese",
but instead she hides her face and says "eyes".
I guess the flash was too bright. lol

Best of Both Worlds

Piper loves watermelon.

But she loves her Poppy more!

Just look at her.
While Poppy is feeding her bites of watermelon,
she doesn't take her eyes off of him for a second.
Not to look at the fork.
Not to put it in her mouth.

LOVE!

Cinderella Cinderella

I'm putting out a call for toys for Piper please.
Lots and lots of toys.
If you could kindly send your toy donation to us here in PEI,
it would be gratefully appreciated.

BECAUSE,
apparently she doesn't have enough toys to entertain her.

Instead,
she must play with a stinky ol' sock.
And not just any ol' sock.
One that was still ON Poppy's foot.

After an honest effort at attempting to remove it herself,
she enlisted Nanny's help.

Success soon followed and we had one happy little girl.

But the fun didn't stop there.

Putting the sock on Nanny's foot and then back on Poppy's foot
was equally amusing.

So please.
Please help this poor deprived child.
Send your toy today!

SIGH!

xo

Trying unsuccessfully to claim Poppy's sock.
She had to enlist the help of Nanny!
Horray!
Can you see the pure joy on her face?
Cinderella. Cinderella. Does the 'shoe' fit?
Nope.
Let's try Poppy...
It fits perfectly!!
He must be her Cinderella!
(Piper was quite proud of herself for dressing Pop!)

Reading Stories with Nanny Lynch

Nanny and Poppy Lynch arrived yesterday
for their first visit to our new home in PEI.

Piper is enjoying the attention.

I'm sure the next few posts will be showing just how much!

xo

Reading a story about who else, but ERNIE!

Bird Brain

At the park yesterday, Piper fell in love with a seagull.

At least he got her away from the rocks and made her run a little!

xo

What is it that you want to pick "uppy" Piper??
Oh, a seagull.
You can have him if you can catch him!
So she tries....
but thankfully fails!
