Pouty, Pudgy and Proud

Some of you may wonder why I have not yet mentioned
the tragic events which took place in Moncton
on June 4th.

It's because I have no words.

I do not know what to say.

The wives and children of
Constable Dave Ross,
Constable Doug Larche
and
Constable Fabrice Gevaudan
are currently living one of my very worst nightmares.

I understand that Mark's job is dangerous,
but we try not to dwell on that in this house.
How could it be possible for us to relax
and look forward to each day
if we constantly thought of this scary reality?

Though we try our very best to trust in a good society,
in Mark's ability to do his job well
and in the security of his coworkers having his back,
it is days like June 4th that remind us
just how unpredictable each shift can be.

I pray for our fallen Mounties.
I pray for their families.
I pray for their coworkers.

I am so proud of my husband and his dedication to protecting us.
I am proud of the example he is setting for our daughters.
I am so proud!

Pouty, but proud of her Papa!
(There may have been a slight meltdown over wearing a hat for this photo shoot.)
Pudgy and proud.
