Piper hasn't asked for anything for her birthday
besides a Dora and Boots birthday party
that must include a Dora and Boots cake.
Easy peasy... sort of.
I have a Dora cake pan,
but can't find anything for Boots anywhere.
That means I'll be making two cakes.
One will probably look normal,
but since I have to do Boots without a template,
he may end up looking more like a frog than a monkey.
But two days ago,
Piper looked up at me and asked if she could please have
a PENAKA for her birthday.
Please.
Yikes.
For a moment I thought,
there's no chance little one,
since I have no idea what a 'penaka' is.
She sensed my confusion straight away
and proceeded to explain that she doesn't know how to say it right,
but that you whack it and then candy falls out of it.
Hahahaha.
Right!!
THOSE penakas.
Thank goodness she explained it.
The next day, after she slept ALL night in her bed,
I rewarded her by taking her to the store to find a penaka.
Sadly they didn't have any in stock,
but they did have a vast selection of PIÑATAS to choose from.
:-)
And we found the best one of all.
I have a happy happy happy little girl.
Even more happy that she was at breakfast that day,
when she was super excited to eat a Restaurant Butter Sandwich.
This is so typical Piper!!
I had a little packet of whipped butter
left over from a take out meal a few days before.
When Piper asked if she could have a piece of bread and butter
for her breakfast,
I thought she'd like the little whipped butter on it
instead of Becel.
Well... was I ever right.
Piper was estatic.
She put her two pieces of bread together
and exclaimed it to be a Restaurant Butter Sandwich.
It was also the "best breakfast ever".
Yep.
All because of a tiny left over packet of whipped butter.
That little girl is not hard to please!
Elliotte is still following Piper's lead with everything.
Especially talking.
She is quite the chatterbox now.
Two nights ago Elliotte started coughing at 11:30pm,
so I took her into my bed hoping that she wouldn't wake Piper.
It didn't matter.
Piper climbed in bed with us by 4:00am.
Of course she wasn't quiet about it,
so woke up Elliotte.
Elliotte was so excited that the three of us were in bed together,
that she had to tell us all about it.
Then she have me a full anatomy lesson,
pointing to each of her body parts,
telling me what they were called
and demanding that I "wook" at her as she did it.
All day long I hear Piper saying:
"Look at me, Mommy!"
"Watch, Mommy!"
And Elliotte saying,
"Wook, Mommy!"
"Wowch, Mommy"
Must I really 'wook' and 'wowch' at 4am as well?
Zzzzzzzzz...
Must go and try to sleep.

I'm not sure how she's going to react to whacking Dora, but since she knows that there is candy inside.... |
Since Piper won't let me touch the piñata, I'll just look at this book instead. |
