Aloha from our Luau

Today Piper seemed to be feeling a little better.

Last nightsShe ate something that wasn't on the BRAT menu,
and kept it down.
Yeah for fish tacos!

When she woke up this morning and asked for an eggo.
She ate TWO.
Hooray for sick kids feeling better.

She was playing and having fun,
so I asked her if she'd like to go the the luau at play group
or stay home and rest.

She chose the luau.

We went.
We had fun.
Lots of fun.

But my little one is now back to laying on the couch
and has another fever.

Not fun.

She has perked up a little bit again tonight,
but I doubt we'll be going to ballet.
Not unless we have an amazing night
and she's dancing around our house in the morning.

Miss E still seems to be evading this bug.
Keep your fingers crossed for us!

The girls' Easter dresses are the brightest thing I could think to put on them
for this Hawaiian themed party.
(Even if we did wear sweaters over them.)
Elliotte having her Hawaiian snack... a cracker.
Piper enjoying some fruit at least.
You can see her eyes are sick in this photo.
She started to really look like this during the luau
and then got worse when we got home.
A table makes for a great place to play!
Hula girls!
She may be small, but Elliotte is gonna try what ever Piper and the big kids are doing.
Her new favourite things to say are,
"I do it. Elliotte do it. I try."
She's so indépendant and determined!

Sick Big Sister - The Sequel

A short post tonight.

Miss Piper Cee is sick again.
Elliotte is on antibiotics from a sickness that she had last week,
so thankfully so far she has evaded this sickness.
Knock on wood!

Goodness.
When it strikes Piper, it really hits hard.
She woke up this morning complaining of a bad belly.
Within hours she was vomiting and had a fever.

Fingers crossed for a good night tonight
and a speedy recovery!
(And that little sister, mom and dad escape this one!)

As soon as Piper gets a fever, she falls asleep.
Elliotte didn't like being far from her sick sister today.
She sat in their room and happily played Little People
while Piper slept/rested for most of the late afternoon. xo

Curly Locks

A few days ago I posted about Elliotte having big girl braids
just like her big sister.

Well the aftermath of braids is curly hair,
which was even more exciting to Elliotte
than the big sister hair.

This little one is in such a rush to grow up,
but only so she can do the things that Piper is doing.
It is so much fun to watch!

I just love my little girls!

Piper modeling her own curls.
And helping her little sister to see her own.
She is pretty darn proud of those lovely locks!
I can't get enough. Can you tell?
Speaking of curly locks,
this is a picture that Piper drew and colored this week.
She asked me to help her draw the faces and bodies,
but she did most of it!
And fyi, those are apple trees and not flowers next to Goldie Locks and Bear.
One has red apples, but after Nana told her there are yellow apples too,
she had to draw a second yellow apple tree!

Baby Chicken Turns Three

It only feels like yesterday
that my baby Piper was calling Claire's baby "baby chicken",
since she couldn't' say Caitlin.

In the blink of any eye,
Piper is rolling her eyes at her little sister if she doesn't say 'Caitlin' clear enough
and that little baby chicken is THREE.

Today was Caitlin's birthday party.
The poor little thing was feeling so miserable,
but still managed to be the perfect little hostess.

My girlies had a wonderful time
and passed out soon after coming home.

Those four little girls have so much fun together.

Peppa Pig Cake!!!
Elliotte will look at this, yell PEPPA and then snort like a pig!
Birthday parties are so much fun!
You can see just how miserable the pool little birthday girl was.
Big sister is sure growing up!
She was starting to feel a little under the weather as well.
Happy Piper has cake.
Elliotte is getting antsy waiting for her piece.
It's really hard to sit still when you're waiting for CAKE!
I didn't get a photo of her eating it.
I dropped the camera and ran to her
before she shoved a fist size piece of fondant into her mouth! :-)

Nicest Neighbours

You know you have the best neighbors ever,
when they give you hand-me-downs
that include handmade coats from England!!

People comment on them whenever we wear them out.
Can you blame them?

My girls are so lucky!!

All dressed up with no where to go. ;-)

Poppy's Mustache

My kids are funny.

Laugh out loud funny!

They're always goofing around and trying to make me laugh.

Last night while I was flossing their teeth,
Piper hung the floss out of her mouth and said she had a mustache.

Then she turned to Elliotte and said,
"Hello. My name is Poppy!"

I burst out laughing,
so of course, the littlest ham had to copy her big sister
to try to make me laugh too!

It worked!

There's Poppy with her pathetic little dental floss mustache.
And her copycat!
Just in case you didn't notice,
Miss Elliotte has her first set of princess braids today.
Just like her big sister.
She was SOOOOO proud!

Sister Snackers

Every now and then my girls will act like best friends.

That's in between the bickering and fighting of course.

A couple of mornings ago
they were playing quietly in their bedroom together,
so when Piper came out and asked if they could share a snack in there
I was happy to oblige.

I gave her a cup of Goldfish each.
(Yes. Still eating leftover fish from our guppy buffet.)

When I went in their room to check on them a few minutes later,
I discovered that Piper had dumped all of the Little People
out of their bins
and turned them over to make a table each for her and Elliotte.

Such a small gesture,
but they were both so happy.

Days that start off like this tend to be very very lovely days!

I would rather eat these two up than the fish crackers!
