Big Blue Eyed Happy Baby!

Sorry to essentially be adding five similar photos today, however I couldn't resist. Piper just looks so happy here. That must mean that I'm doing something right.. right? I'm so blessed!

xo

Just happy!

I look a little like my dolly here!

How will I ever say 'no' to this face?

Laughing at Dolly up in the air!

Cutest ponytail ever!

Daddy Daycare?

First of all, sorry about missing a post yesterday. I was tired and just bailed on blogging before bed.

Today was an interesting day. I believe that Piper is cutting her baby teeth, adult teeth, wisdom teeth and a set of dentures all at the same time!! Oh dear! The first photo was taken at lunchtime. She was not  very interested in eating her chicken and sweet potatoes, but was VERY interested in using the highchair tray as a teether. Messy messy baby. No teeth yet though!

I couldn't resist posting the second photo. I just love it. We met up with some friends who also have a baby and walked to the dog park with Blue. As the moms lagged behind chatting, it was very nice to watch the dads walk and chat with the babies. I love this photo so much!

The ups and downs of love!

Piper and her boyfriend Cole.
Piper kisses Cole, but he doesn't kiss her back...
... which makes for a sad Piper.

Little Lynch's Lovely Long Locks

People keep commenting on the length of Piper's hair. Well, there is no better place to see just how long it is in the back, than in the bathtub!

THIS is what makes bibs that join with velcro in the back a pain in the behind! They get stuck in her hair and then they don't stay closed as well, which makes them even easier for her to pull off. Ugh!

We haven't been able to find tie-up bibs anywhere. Looks like I may have to try to get a little bit crafty and make some? Oh dear!

Northern Lights

Okay, so we had very little sleep last night, which resulted in me neglecting my camera all together today. (Note: Piper was not neglected, lol!)

It is 7:45 pm, Piper is in bed and that is exactly where I am going as soon as I publish this post.

Trying to keep with the photo a day, even though it's not of Piper, this photo is Piper-related.

This photo was taken of the skies above Yellowknife on the night that Piper was born! It was taken about an hour and a half after she arrived.

Temperatures were recorded at -20˚C with a low of -25˚C.

I thought it was pretty amazing, so I thought I would share!

Why do we bother to buy toys?

So today I plopped Piper down on a blanket and surrounded her with toys to play with. I sat on the floor next to her to sing songs and nursery rhymes while she played.

For a full hour, Piper completely ignored the multiple toys around her and instead played with the strings attached to my hoodie!

The only thing that seemed more interesting than my hoodie strings was the camera!

I think for her first birthday and for Christmas I will just buy myself some nice clothing with shiny buttons or strings and label them "To: Piper".

xo

Strings are fun!

Strings are hours of fun!

Oh wait. Cameras are fun too.
Reaching for camera (string still in hand)!

Yikes. She's quick and got the camera lens.

Heehee. Just a bonus photo.
We can store 'unused toys' on her ponytail! :-)

My new book from Mommy's childhood!

I came across this book on a Goodreads website a few weeks ago and was immediately hit with a wave of nostalgia. I remember loving this book as a child! I ordered it from our local bookstore the very next day and today we walked down and picked it up.

During the hundreds of times I read this book as a child, I never once dreamed that someday I would be reading it to my own daughter. I'm so in love!

xo

Fresh out of the bathtub and about to read my new book.

Can't wait for Mom to read it to me, so I'll read it myself!

Time to move the crib mattress down!!

Jeepers. Everyday there really is something new! Today I plopped Piper in her crib, sitting up, while I tidied up her room. Next thing I look over and here she is, looking at me while chewing on the rail. Then as soon as she realizes that she can grab the rail and chew on it, she may as well grab the mobile too!

The middle photo is not a new feat on her part. If she is in there on her belly and wants to see what I'm doing, she will reach over and pull down on the mesh bumper pad to see me. Sometimes I see her doing this in the middle of the night when she wakes up and is looking to see if I'm around. :-)

Really. How does one stop smiling while there is a baby nearby?

Aug 20 - Oh so Pretty

Piper has been given an enormous amount of the most precious clothing ever! Sadly, however, some of the sweetest summer clothes were just a little too big for her to wear before now. We have taken advantage of the past few warm days to wear some of our cutest outfits that we're finally fitting into!

Mommy loves me in outfits with matching hats!

August 19 - This is how I roll!

Skinny jeans and shoes that match my hat and hoodie,
yes, I'm stylin'!

My retro shades!
Because I'm that cool!

August 17 - Sleepy Eater

And this is what happens when you decide to get up at 5am and THEN skip a nap during the day. There is no photo to show it, but Mommy is doing the exact same thing here. Ha!

Too tired to chew!

August 16 - The Next Barker's Beauty?

Here is Miss Piper Cee showing off this exquisite piece of bedroom storage furniture from IKEA.
Piper's Mommy had her eye on this piece of furniture since long before "Little Lynch" came along. Not knowing if the Little One would be a boy or a girl, she refrained from buying it. Once Miss P came along, buying this dresser and having it shipped from the IKEA store in Edmonton to Yellowknife was just toooo expensive.
But then one wonderful day (yesterday), her Mommy was browsing the Mom-Mom "previously loved" items page on facebook and came across THE very dresser that she wanted. $60 later, it now belongs to the beautiful model featured here.
Eeeeeh! I love it when I get a super good deal on something. I save more than $100 on the piece and that doesn't even include what I would have had to pay for shipping!  xo

August 15 - Bed Head

I have a feeling these posts may be "hair" themed for a while.
Until it tames down at least! lol

August 14 - Princess Piper Pineapple

Since having a little girl, I have discovered that shopping really can be fun! Too fun. As a result, I avoid  any online kids clothing sites so that I'm not tempted to buy things.

A couple of weeks ago, I was introduced Gymboree website. (Thanks a lot KA!) On this website I see the sweetest cutest most adorable swimsuit I have EVER seen. I just knew that Piper HAD to have it. Only one problem... it was only available in size 3-6 months. Oh dear.

I honestly spent TWO hours calling every Gymboree store in Canada looking for this little pineapple swimsuit to fit Piper. With only 2 stores left to call, I hit the jackpot!! 6-12 months. I was giddy with excitement.

Last night, it arrived by FedEx (who rang the doorbell, which made the dog bark, which woke the baby, ugh!). I had to stop myself from jumping at the chance to try this sweet little suit on my crying baby girl. Ha! I did let her go quickly back to sleep and waited until morning to play dress up!

Hurry hurry California! Piper is ready to strut her cute little pineapple stuff at the beach!

August 13 - Hat Head

Miss P has had a ridiculous amount of hair from day 1. It's adorable, but can get out of hand. Today was a little cold, so we put a hat on her to go shopping. This is what happens when you take the hat off. Piper's version of hat head! xo

Hat head hair after going shopping!

August 11 - Wake up Cole!

Patiently waiting for Cole to wake up!

Ran out of patience.
Will you wake up if I pull your sock off?

Yes! Yes you will!

August 4 - I can sit up and play now!!

So August is the month when I actually decided that I would start my Photo-a-Day blog!
I'm almost caught up here, so it's easier to just go day by day.
Miss Piper is now super sturdy sitting on her own. We don't really know how this happened... just one day she started sitting up.
We weren't really practicing that we know of,
but I guess at this stage of her little life, everything is practice!

Sitting up all alone!

Most probably looking in the little mirror on octopus's leg here!
