Questionable Parenting

With sleep depravation being the focus of our household

for the past three months,

our entire family has is teetering on the brink of insanity.

Or is it just me and I'm trying to pass it off as a family thing?

I'm not sure.

I'll look back some day, 

after 8 blissful hours of sleep,

and decide then.

There is such thing as 8 consecutive hours of sleep, right?

What am I talking about?

Right now I'd take 4.

Even 3. 

Yes 3 would be nice...

Anyway.

The girls are still doing great.

Elliotte is growing and thriving

(except for the sleep issue)

and Piper is a cracker-jack as usual.

Piper has been enjoying her homemade advent calendar

that I made for her 

and we look forward to Elliotte's nap time each day,

because that has become our

"big girl and mommy time". 

Yesterday's advent cup contained Jelly Belly Bubbles!

Have you ever tried them?

They're awesome!

They smell like jellybeans

and you get like, FIFTY bubbles with one single dip of the wand.

We used them during Piper's bath

and were having great fun.

Elliotte even visited for a little with with her daddy 

and was dazed in wonder!

Obviously Piper wanted a turn blowing the bubbles. 

Being as uncoordinated as she is,

she accidentally put the wand into her mouth

while trying to blow the bubbles.

The look of utter disgust on her face was priceless.

She was even using her hands 

to try to wipe the bubble solution off of her tongue.

It was hilarious and I just couldn't stop laughing. 

They're Jelly Belly bubbles.

They couldn't taste as bad as she was reacting...

right?

I was curious.

I'm tired. 

Please don't judge.

I'm really REALLY tired.

It clouded my judgement.

They're JELLYBEAN bubbles after all.

Yes.

I was curious enough that I licked the wand.

On purpose.

And yes.

They do taste THAT bad. 

Foul.

Disgusting.

NOTHING like jellybeans. 

I called to Mark and Elliotte to help.

I begged them to bring us cookies, ice cream...

 anything to get the taste out of our mouths.

Mark looks at me concerned,

"I understand Piper,

but how did YOU get it in YOUR mouth"?

Ugh.

Don't ask.

Just. Don't. Ask.

You should have seen the look on Piper's face after she ate the bubbles.

Elliotte sporting one of the little stickers from Piper's yesterday cup.
Yep.
I bought those little round coloured circle stickers
that offices use to color coordinate folders as one of the prizes to go in her cups.
Why?
Because they were .25 cents and I knew Piper would love them.
She's spent hours sticking them on paper!
And Elliotte likes them too.
I think she's eaten a dozen or so!
