Lynches in Lunenburg

For those of you who may not know,
the little town of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia
is not only a beautiful place worth visiting,
but it is also home to a certain gem
that is quite special to our family.

The Theresa E. Connor is a schooner
from which Piper's great-grandfather fished off of
when he was just a young man.

Growing up,
I heard many tales and stories
of my grandfather's adventures aboard this beautiful boat,
so it was very meaningful for me
to bring Piper on board.

To know that she was standing on the very same boat
that he once stood on brought tears to my eyes.
More than once.

We lost my grandfather just a few months before Piper was born,
so he was unable to ever meet her in person.

However,
I'm sure he was smiling down on us from heaven
when I took Piper aboard the Theresa E. Connor.

THAT, my friends, I am sure of!

The beautiful Theresa E. Connor
Mommy, Daddy, Piper Cee and the Littlest Lynch-to-Be on board!
We knew from Pop's stories that he slept in the bunk directly behind the captain's quaters,
which is exactly where Miss P is sitting in this photo!
Another family shot in front of Pop's bunk!
Captain Nayson and co-captain Piper steering the ship!
A schooner is a little bit too big for these two to manage,
so they opted for a much more manageable dory!
Nayson giving Miss P a push on the whale rocker!
Fishing sure is fun,
but it's a lot of hard work!
