This is part four in the Summer of Visitors series.
We've already had more visitors here this summer,
than we did in the past 10 years combined!
(We've lived six other fabulous places,
but I guess no one wanted to travel that far to visit?!)
Regardless,
this summer has been so much fun.
Krista, Harold and of course Mr. Jack
came to visit for the long weekend.
We all know that in the past
Jack and Piper haven't always gotten along all that well.
Not that they fought or didn't like each other,
it was more of an issue with Jack being sick
and Piper being a 'reaction seeker'.
In case you don't quite follow me when I say reaction seeker,
let me explain.
Piper feeds off of reactions.
To anything!
If you react,
she will repeat!
So in past visits when Jack has been sick,
he would cry whenever Piper was near him.
If she looked at him,
if she touched him,
if she hit him in the face,
(Yes, the last one did happen!)
then Jack would cry.
It made for stressful visits by everyone involved.
So this time around,
we were all hopeful for a better outcome.
We didn't hold out too much hope in the beginning,
because both Piper, Jack and their moms
all started getting a flu just before the weekend.
Ugh.
It wasn't looking good.
But low and behold,
it turned out to be fantastic.
Piper and Jack were the best of buddies
and had such a great time together.
Were there hiccups?
Of course.
They're both TWO!
I think something would be seriously wrong if there weren't any,
but it was mostly smooth sailing for three fun days!
One morning during breakfast,
Jack even looked at Piper and told her that she was pretty.
Oh my word.
That melted my heart.
Just like this morning,
when Piper stretched her arms out wide
and told Jack that she loves him "this much"!
Yes.
I think we're finally on our way
to family camping trips
and board game nights
and neighborhood hide and seek games, etc.
All of the fun things that Krista and I did with our cousins
when we were growing up!
Love!
Now we just need to convince them to include little Elliotte in all the big kid fun!
(Please be patient.
I have about a week's worth of photos to post,
so expect to see a lot of these three over the next few days!)
