What better time to begin new things
than in the new year.
Last night our big girl moved into a toddler bed
for the first time
and today we had to move Elliotte's crib mattress down
to the lowest setting
because she's always pulling herself up to standing now.
My girls are growing so much!
I can't imagine how much they will have grown
by January 1st 2016.
I will post a comparison picture for sure.
That gives me an idea.
I will post a comparison photo of Piper
on the first day of 2014 at the end of this post.
In the mean time,
I did mention that 2015 began with a bang.
Perhaps it was more like a 'thud'
rather than a bang,
but it's all relative.
Imagine it being the 'thud' sound that you would hear
when a body drops to the floor.
Because that's what happened.
Both girls were tucked into their beds
and the adults sat back in the living room
to enjoy one last drink in 2014.
I kept an eye on Piper on the video monitor,
just to make sure that she didn't climb out of her big girl bed.
I really didn't imagine that she would FALL out instead.
One moment I was looking at her a curled up in her bed
and the next she was in a pile on the floor.
And she didn't wake up.
Not for a second.
While the rest of us watched the monitor screen in amusement,
Mark went into her room,
scooped her up,
tucked her back in,
gave her a kiss
and then walked back out of her room.
All without her waking up for one second.
Hilarious!
That and the fact that he said that she was mumbling
the entire time in complete sleep.
AND...
Miss Elliotte had her own special surprise for all of us.
For the first time in almost FOUR months,
she slept through the night.
(She did wake once for a feeding,
but I think that is only fair and normal for a ten month old!)
Happy New Year to ME!

It's a new year. Time for me to shine!! Starting with standing up every chance that I get. |
Our big girl in her big girl bed. (With the exception of that one fumble, she stayed in there the entire night!) |
And here is our New Year Comparison picture. Piper, Elliotte and I. |
