Piper was über excited for Uncle Bill and Aunt Debra
to stop by for a visit on Sunday.
As soon as the words "Uncle Bill" were out of my mouth,
she lit up and said "he gave me my t-ball set"!
(Don't ever think that gifts go unnoticed by my children!)
They showed up while I was desperately trying to regain
some control over this disaster that I used to call my home.
Six weeks of headaches leads to clutter and chaos!
I've had four better days of my head not hurting as much,
so I am slowly making headway through my mess,
but I'm very far from not feeling embarrassed when people visit.
Please don't judge!
While I was cleaning and tidying,
Elliotte was napping and Piper was playing with her play doh.
When Uncle Bill and Debra sat down at the table with her,
she was all set.
Now she could make her clay creations
all while talking someone's ear off.
I can't help it.
I love my children more than anything,
but the constant non-stop chatter is sometimes overwhelming.
Especially with a headache.
I'm sad to admit it,
but I know I've been tuning Miss Piper out a lot lately,
so I'm sure she was in her glee
to have TWO new sets of ears to tickle.
Our visit was lovely, but too short.
Piper kept asking about them after they left,
but kept calling them "Uncle Debra".
I would remind her that it was Uncle Bill and Aunt Debra,
but she seems to be giving them the combined nickname
of Uncle Debra.
For someone who likes to talk SOOOO much,
this really amuses me.
And it looks as if Elliotte is following very closely
in her big sister's footsteps.
She is now not only saying at least 100 words,
but she is stringing those words into sentences!!
Today she put four words together to let me know what she wanted!
We're getting to the point now where she and Piper
are starting to have little conversations.
They've always managed to do that,
but never with both using WORDS.
It cracks me up!
I can only imagine the things I will hear those two talking about
in our future!

Elliotte awoke from her nap just in time to see everyone before they left! She still has the imprint of her blankets on her little face here. |
