Colouring Customers

While Daddy was shopping for some new pants,
Piper, Elliotte and I waited for him at the colouring table in Old Navy.

The girls were having a lovely time coloring,
when they spied a giant gumball machine
that dispensed rubber bouncy balls.

Of course they asked for them.

I apologized and told them,
"not today".
They were okay with that.

Thankfully,
because I did NOT want to spend the rest of our shopping experience
chasing bouncy balls around that store!

A little while later they got up
and walked over to the gumball machine
to examine it and it's contents a little closer.

Another shopper noticed them
and told me that her kids love those balls too.
I just smiled back and said that my kids were out of luck today
because mommy didn't have any coin money.
(I knew my kids could over hear,
so was glad for the added confirmation that they would not be getting a ball.)

Ahhh, but I forgot that we live in PEI.
Where people are TOO darn friendly.

Yes.

The lovely lady became very excited as she pulled two quarters from her pocket
and happily handed them over to my little darlings.
(I'm clenching my teeth as I even type this!)

Don't get me wrong.
It really was lovely for her to do that,
but guess who spent the next thirty minutes either
retrieving balls from beneath clothing fixtures
or STERNLY demanding that my kids keep them in their pockets.

Deep breath!
DEEEEEEEP BREATH!

Thank you random lady!
I hope someone repays your lovely gesture some day.
And I genuinely mean that.
It was nice!

I'm just noticing here that Elliotte is coloring with her left hand.
We still don't know if she'll be a lefty or a righty,
as she's still very ambidextrous.
Time will tell.
