Anxious for Spring

Our new house is pretty spacious and open,
but not enough for wagon rides!

That didn't stop Piper from convincing
ALL of her Nannies and Poppies to take her for rides though.

Only a couple were caught on camera,
but trust me,
no one got off the hook with this one!

xo

Nanny "Gandy" was quickly put to work!
Poppy Pope had to help with a little navigating once or twice.
Poppy Lynch was also on duty!!
I think Blue was jealous!

Four Generations

Like great-grandmother,
like grandmother,
like mother,
like daughter!

I love this photo!!

There is just one question to be asked:

Is this photo being crashed by a teeny tiny person with a teeny tiny penis????
Or is it another lovely lady?

Only 8.5 weeks until we all find out!
Unless baby is following Piper's schedule,
which would mean that we all find out in 4 weeks.

xo

I know I'm biased, but I think I have the cutest daughter of the bunch! ;-)

Turkey Coma

Yes,
we've all heard of a Turkey Coma,
but this was a bit much.

Piper didn't even finish what she was eating before she passed out.

It may have had something to do with the excitement of Christmas Day,
or with having all of her grandparents around,
or of having skipped her nap,
but either way
that turkey kicked in faster than I've ever seen before.

I'm not going to lie,
I was very envious of her at that point.
I wanted to put my head down and sleep too.

xo

It all started off as fun and games...
... until two bites later.
(Notice her hand is still in her plate. I think she may even have been still chewing!)
Okay, so we had a little fun with this photo.
The wine bottle and Mommy's wine glass filled with ginger ale
were too close to pass up.
Zzzzzzzzz.... straight through dinner.
It took a while to wake her up after wards,
but she was running around wreaking havoc again in no time!

Queen of the Kitchen

The new kitchen that Santa brought for Piper
was a hit.

She LOVES it.

She has spent every day since Christmas
preparing and serving meals for all of her grandparents.

Boxing day was a special occasion,
so she got dressed up before preparing her
orange and pepper soup.

Thank you to Nanny Lynch for such a beautiful dress.
We all think Piper looks exceptionally cute in blue.

xo

A little over-dressed for cooking,
but no one complained!
Adding a little pepper to her 'orange soup'.
Busy busy busy!
Boxing Day braids that a 20 year old would kill for!

Baker's Secret

Do you think Betty Crocker or Duncan Hynes'
family photos looked like this?

xo

Yes... Poppy is wearing a cupcake apron...
... and yes, Piper is wearing rubber boots!

A PEI Family Christmas

Merry Christmas to all
(even if I am a day late)!

Family first - blog second.

There will be lots of time for better posts
once everyone has gone back home.

Well... that's until the Littlest Lynch arrives
and then you'll be lucky to get any posts at all!
Ha!

Only 9 weeks to go until his/her due arrival,
but we all know that this Lynch family is not very punctual,
so who really knows!

Piper had an AMAZING Christmas.

She was so excited to see that Santa had brought her presents!

After opening one,
she would "ohhhh and awwww" over it
before exclaiming,
"more presents"!

She did get a little tired of it all in the end
(yes, there were enough presents to tire a 1 year old)
and she became much more interested in her stocking.

It was then that she noticed her table and chair set
from Nanny Grandy.

THEN she noticed her wagon from Nana and Poppy Pope.

THEN she noticed her kitchen from Santa.

THEN she played and played and played.

I'm not sure I've seen her since! Ha!

More Christmas photos and funny stories to come!

xo

Piper's entourage as she made her way to the Christmas tree.
If they all had had their cameras,
it would have been like the paparazzi.
Wow. Santa sure did come here!
The amazing thing about this tree is that 95% of the gifts
were sent to Piper from family and friends.
We feel so loved and blessed!!!
Piper showing Blue how to get into his new bed!
Checking out her new doll from Nanny and Poppy Lynch.
She thought the doll was nice,
but she is in LOVE with the doll's little stuffed bunny rabbit toy.
I'm sure you will see posts about him in the future!
After getting tired of opening presents,
she moved on to her stockings.
CHOCOLATE was the key ingredient here!
Discovering her wagon!
And discovering her new kitchen!
Santa DID read her letter!!!

Good Thing for Two Stockings!

No post last night because it was just TOO busy,
hectic and fun with all the family being around.

Tonight was the same thing again,
so I'm keeping this post short.

Let's just say that we dug out Piper's two
'first' Christmas stockings from last year
and decided to use them again this year.

It's a darn good thing that there were two,
since she does have two feet!

;-)

More Christmas photos tomorrow!

xo

Putting on stocking #1.
And putting on stocking #2.
Yep!
It's a good thing there were two!
Not quite understanding why she was hanging her 'socks' on the fireplace,
but learning that things aren't always what they seem to be!

Tree Decorating with the Family

THIS is what Christmas is all about.

All four grandparents and one great-grandparent
have made Piper one HAPPY little girl!

xo

Hanging the first ornaments.
Piper would only hand them on the lights!!!
Helping Poppy to choose the next one.
More focus on the tree and less on the child please!
There is work to be done.
That's more like it!
Let's sit on our little brother or sister and decorate the tree!
NOT Santa's Little Helper.
Mickey Mouse wannabe!
Nanny "Gandy's" right hand 'man'.
Nana decorating Piper instead of the tree.
Piper didn't like having the garland wrapped around her.
I think it tickled.

"Ivory" the Snowman

I don't know why,
but Piper LOVES to play with bars of Ivory soap.

She discovered it when we were unpacking
and moving into our new house.

Ever since,
she knows where they are stored
and will often go and get a few to play with?!?

Today she sat down to play with them next to Blue.

The next thing I know,
she is stacking them on top of each other
and saying "snowman"!

The cleanest snowman ever!

Silly little kid!

xo

Soap is super fun.
Don't knock it till you've tried it mom!

Bothering Blue

Sometimes Piper and Blue are the best of friends.

Other times,
she is his worst nightmare!

Honestly!

There are days when you can just see in her eyes
that she has it out for him
and he may as well just go lay down somewhere
where she can't find him.

Two nights ago was a 'love' night.
It could have gone either way
when she started giving him that 'look',
but thankfully it was all fun and games!

I love the good days!

xo

Giving Blue 'the look'.
You can tell he is very familiar with it by the worried look on his face.
Showing Blue how big she is!
Blue showing Piper how much he loves his big girl!!

No! No! No! to Ho! Ho! Ho!

Today we did our BIG grocery and liquor store run in the morning
to prepare for the arrival of
two Poppies,
two Nannies
and one Great-Grandma!

Afterwards,
we went to Mark's work for a Christmas luncheon.

By the time we left the detachment,
it was an hour past Piper's nap time.
Not a good thing for anyone involved.

Then we realized that Santa would be at the mall,
which we had to pass on our way home
and if we stopped and got her photo taken
it would save us another trip out into the crowded streets
after supper.

So we stopped.

Bad idea.

Tired toddler = Cranky toddler = No No to Ho Ho!

Ahhh...
she will love this photo when she's older!

xo

I sat with her for a moment to try to warm her up to him,
but when that wasn't working I just dropped her
and made a mad dash to get out of the photo.
You can see me running in this shot!!
She didn't scream or freak out,
just held out her arms and the tears started to flow!
Do you think she'll need therapy because of me??

Colouring Contest Winner

Today was SUCH an awesome day.

Exhausting.
But awesome!

It started off with a phone call from Home Hardware.
They were calling to tell us that Piper won a prize
for her entry into the Christmas colouring contest.

How cute!!!

On our way to pick up her prize
we stopped at the Post Office.
Not only did we receive a box full of Christmas cards
(thank you to everyone that sent them),
but we also received the last two gifts
that we have been waiting for
to give to Nana and Poppy.

THEN,
after picking up Piper's prize from the hardware store,
I decided to make one last ditch effort
at finding us a decent artificial Christmas tree.
My procrastination has left us treeless this year,
as Costco was sold out of their nice trees
and almost everywhere else we have looked
only had ugly trees,
trees with only white lights
or nice trees that were WAY too expensive.

Anyway,
in my last effort to find us a nice tree
I stopped into Kent Building Supplies.
I knew they had a beautiful tree there for $400,
which I absolutely refused to pay for a tree!
But today,
it was marked as clearance for 50% off.

Eeek.
But they were all sold out.
Even the display tree.

I begged the sales lady to find one for me in another store
and to my delight,
they found one in the next town over.
A 15 minute drive later,
I was the proud owner of a BEAUTIFUL Christmas tree
with the coloured lights I so wanted!

As if all of this isn't good enough for one day,
when I arrived home
Mark informed me that a delivery truck had arrived
and dropped off the gift that my grandmother
wanted to have here for Piper for Christmas.

AND THEN,
as I told Mark about my wonderfully productive day over lunch,
we opened a 'bill'
to discover that it was actually a credit from the propane company.
It showed us that they were sending us a cheque
that was for an amount that was more than what my tree cost!

SO,
I feel like I got my tree for free!!!!!

There really is a Santa Claus!

:-)

I hope you all had a day as wonderful as mine!

xo

Piper's prize for entering her first colouring contest.
This was the best shot I could get of her with her winning entry.
She was riding the Wombat like a horse and nose diving into the paper.
Sigh!
The winning entry! Haha!

Little Neta Strikes Again

Clean. Clean. Clean.

Piper is just like her Great-Nanny-Grandy.

A couple of days ago,
I found her cleaning her trains.

She went and got a cloth,
used her water cup to put "wallow" on her cloth
and proceeded to scrub her trains.

Yep.

Nanny Grandy's grandchild for sure!
