Fourteen Month Comparison

Oops.

I missed it by a couple of days.
I'm not very promo these days.

Either way, it seems as if neither of these girls turns after their mother
when it comes to flying.

There is NO fear!

Elliotte flying through the air in PEI.
Yeah... she thinks it's fun!

One Out of Two Ain't Bad

It always seems to be the same.

If I take two photos of my girls,
Piper smiles great in one and Elliotte smiles great in the other.

I know. I know.
It's not all about the smiles... but just once you'd think they'd both smile for the camera!

I'll keep trying!

Piper perfect sweet smile... Ummm... Elliotte?
There it is! Elliotte's perfect sweet smile.

Dora Part Dos

Here are the other photos from the Dora show.

Good news and bad news.

Good news: I have a new camera!! A really good one!

Bad news: I don't know how to use this wonderful camera just yet!

During the show we were permitted to take photos,
as long as we didn't use a flash.

Without using the flash, I haven't yet figured out how to focus my camera
in dim lighting.
This meant that there was enough light to take photos of the stage and show,
but not enough to take photos of my girlies while they were watching the show.

I got some before shots of my girls and then some of the show.
That will have to do.

I know Piper will be more interested in seeing photos of Dora and Boots
than she will be of herself anyway.

As we were approaching the Confederation Bridge to go to Moncton,
it was cool to see that the top of it was lost in the clouds!
This little monkey was super excited to play on the stairs before the show started.
Mommy, why does Daddy keep chasing me?
We were seated in the front row of the balcony,
so Piper was excited to have a "front row view" from her seat.
Of course her besties had to come with us and had a front row seat as well.
Thankfully I didn't have to pay for their seats. Ha!
The theater was beautiful.
This was a shot of the ceiling.
The ladies.
Daddy and his girls.

And just a few photos of the show! Piper's world was rocked!!!

Dora Part Uno

I have a couple of good photos from our trip to ?Moncton
to see the Dora thr Explorer Live show,
but they are on my desktop computer,
which is too close to my sleeping baby at the moment.

I will post them tomorrow!

For now, these will have to do!

A very excited super duper Dora fan!

Elliotte graduated to a big girl car seat.
She was less than impressed here, but thought it was pretty cool
when she was strapped in the truck next to her big sister!

Two in the Bed

Two in the bed and the little one said,
"Mom, Dad, uh oh, Boo (Blue) and Oh Wow".

That's it.
Thirteen months old and that's it.
Five words.

But don't be fooled.
Elliotte can communicate better than most adults.
A lot of time that includes grunting or screaming to get your attention,
but whatever works. Right?!

xo
xo

I'm not sure why this is so much fun, but both girls were giddy!

Bumps, Bubbles and Bruises

It's very true that you are a different mother with #2
than you were with #1.

I was SO incredibly nervous when Piper was a baby,
but with Elliotte I was much more relaxed.

I'm sure the fact that Piper was born at 35 weeks had something to do with it,
but not everything.

At 13 months old,
I'm letting Elliotte try things and eat things
that I never would allowed Piper.

I guess I'm just realizing that these tiny people are pretty hardy
and aren't nearly as fragile as I once thought!

Trying to blow bubbles.
Fun on the slide.
Don't worry Elliotte!
Big sister will catch you.
(This was after she pushed her down the slide
when Mommy asked her to hold on for a photo!)

Don't worry big sister.
Elliotte will catch YOU!
Chasing bubbles.
Almost got one!
And here she is making her first attempt at climbing the slide
after watching her big sister do it a few times.
She figured out that if she tucked her fingers into the groves in the blue plastic,
she could then pull herself onto the top platform.
And there was NO hesitation to go down head first!
What a beautiful dismount.
I would consider anything tear or blood-free beautiful! ;-)

PS. Miss Elliotte now has two more bottom teeth to keep those two in the front company.
The only problem is, is that the new teeth are the molars in the back! They're pretty far apart from each other, but teeth are teeth! We'll take whatever we can get!

Future Pastry Chef

We went to cooking school again today.

Due to an unexpected meeting of some head honchos,
we got kicked out of our kitchen classroom.

Piper has been super excited about learning yo make pizza twists all week,
so I wasn't sure how she'd react when she found out that our plans had changed.

Instead, she ended up decorating her own cake and cupcakes.

Yeah.... she didn't complain! ;-)

Elliotte didn't complain either,
since she gets to taste test all of her big sister's cooking school creations!

xo

Very intently working.
Happy with her masterpiece.
All finished decorating. Can you see the icing on her face and eyelids?
Piper and her teacher!
Thank you for sharing your cake, Piper.

Kitchen Chaos

I've never read anything so true in my life:

So so so true!!

The Sand-less Sandbox

We bought a new sandbox in anticipation for the day
when all of our snow is melted.

(Blue can still walk over our 6-foot high fence.)

The sandbox was in our living room with the cover on it
when Piper and Elliotte woke up in the morning.

Piper immediately spied it and asked what it was.
I told her.

She excited looked down at Elliotte and said,
"Oh Elliotte! Want to go play in the sand with me?"

AS IF Mommy would have filled the sandbox with sand
in our LIVING ROOM!!!

This kid can be so funny!

xo

We found a way to make it fun, even without the sand!

Win, Lose or Draw

The girls received an easel from the Easter bunny.

It can be lots of fun,
but when you have a thirteen month old
who thinks she's three,
it can be a bit of a headache as well.

One minute I'm loving watching her try to draw like her big sister,
and the next minute I'm wiping marker off of her tongue.

Why must Elliotte eat EVERYTHING?!

xo
xo

Piper is very proud that she can write the first letter of her name!
Two little artists at work.
I think there may even have been a rare quiet moment here.
After drawing a "p", Piper then proceeded to draw a portrait of her little sister.
And then drew on her little sister.
Can you see the Mark on Elliotte's arm?

A Hole in One or Two

Theses two are always being silly,
and what one does,
the other copies!

Piper showing off her new spectacles!
And of course the little one had to try.
If only you could hear the giggles on this blog!

Brushing Baby

Elliotte has decided that she can do everything
that anyone else can do.

So cute to watch when she's trying to do her hair
or fold face cloths with me,
but not so cute when she won't let me feed her with a spoon.
She keeps trying to grab it herself and feed herself.

That's great that she's trying to learn,
but it's oh so messy!!!

xo
xo

Here Piper.
Let me brush your hair.
Piper was helping her out here,
since I think she was getting more bonks than brush strokes!

Cooking 101

Piper went to school for the first time today.

Cooking school!

It was offered by our local Superstore
AND it was awesome!

The class was great.
The teacher was great.
The food was great.
The other students and their moms were great.

Seriously!

So. Much. Fun!

Piper made breakfast burritos and fruit skewers...
for both of us.

It was a wonderful treat for this momma
to sit back and eat her daughter's cooking for a change.
And it was delicious!

Little Miss Elliotte is still too small to join.
It was okay though, since she rarely complains.

She has a little cold this week,
so she was more than happy to stay home
and play chase with her daddy.

Both little girls were spoiled in their own way today.

xo
xo

This is the best shot that I got of the breakfast burrito.
It was stuffed too full to close, but she ate almost the entire thing!
Cutest cook in the kitchen.
Very proud of her fruit skewer with yogurt dip.
Our little pork chop is feeling under the weather.
Elliotte always sucks her thumb when she is tired.
She loves to have a soft blanket in her hands when she is doing this,
but if there is no blanket around,
she compromises with the cuff of her sleeve.

I just love it when she does this.
